First-Ever Robotics Training for ALS Held in Davao Region 🤖
Over 200 teachers and learners introduced to robotics, electronics, and AI✨
Davao City – September 24–25, 2025 – The Department of Education Region XI, in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation Programa Genio and Erovoutika Robotics & Automation Solutions successfully conducted the first-ever robotics training for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) at the Davao City ALS EFA Center. 🤝
The two-day activity, themed “Robolution ERA – Electronics, Robotics, and AI Literacy Program for ALS,” gathered more than 200 ALS teachers and junior and senior high school learners from 11 Schools Division Offices in the Davao Region. 👩🏫👨🎓
Participants expressed great excitement, sharing that this was their first opportunity to experience robotics firsthand—a milestone in bridging digital education and inclusive learning. 🌐🤲
The program aims to:
💻 Enhance digital literacy through practical computer and internet skills.
🤖 Introduce robotics, electronics, and AI concepts with engaging, hands-on activities.
🌍 Promote inclusive education by extending 21st-century skills to out-of-school youth and adult learners.
💡 Develop lifelong competencies including critical thinking, creativity, and technical proficiency.
To ensure equitable access, Erovoutika provided “pahiram kits” (loaner robotics and electronics kits), enabling every participant to actively participate in the training.
DepEd Regional ALS Focal Person Dr. Maricel S. Langahid noted, “This pioneering initiative affirms our commitment to provide future-ready skills to ALS learners and teachers, empowering them to meet global workforce demands.” 🚀
Meanwhile, Programa Genio Program Head Maricar B. Estole highlighted ABS-CBN Foundation’s continuing advocacy, saying, “Robotics is not only about machines—it’s about inspiring teachers and learners to embrace innovation and discover their potential in STEM.” 🌟🧠
The success of the Robolution ERA program in Davao marks a historic step in integrating STEM into the ALS curriculum paving the way for more innovative and inclusive education programs nationwide. 📘⚙️✨
