Unlock brighter futures by supporting our senior high and alternative learning education initiatives
Initiated in 2012, Programa Genio (PG) works in cooperation with the school divisions of the Department of Education in empowering the youth through education with a heart, as well as strengthening the senior high school program.
We also aim to ensure that the disadvantaged youth are equally provided with opportunities for development. Included in PG’s scope is the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education which provides skills and livelihood training for youth and adults.
Our impact through the years

The Problem
The increasing numbers of out-of-school-youth and dropouts continue to be key issues faced by the Philippine education system. Labor-force participation of the country also remains low compared to other countries in Asia.
Our Response
We seek to help deliver education for all and support schools to become institutions where individuals, regardless of background, are nurtured holistically. We do these through the following:
Career Coaching
Empowering senior-high students in making informed decisions about their choice of track or career, through workshops and training of employable skills
Teacher Training
Upskilling of teachers on the use of technologies necessary in the current landscape and other topics based on a needs-assessment
Alternative Learning Education
Supporting non-traditional educational opportunities for the underserved to help them be economically independent
Provision of Equipment
Enriching the practicum experience of senior high students by providing necessary materials
As an ALS teacher, we need to be flexible. And there are many factors affecting our emotions. So it’s a good thing that we have this kind of training that really helps us. We can use all the principles in classrooms and also in educating our ALS learners.
