The second leg of Play for the Mangroves Philippines in Pola, Oriental Mindoro brought together students, educators, and partners for a full day of learning, action, and connection with nature ๐ฟโจ
Made possible through Seacology in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation Bantay Kalikasan, the day was all about experiencing mangroves beyond the classroom and into the actual environment.
Alongside interactive learning sessions on mangroves and blue carbon ecosystems and a friendly basketball game ๐, the students also took part in a coastal clean-up ๐งน๐ฟ They helped clear the surrounding areas with real energy and enthusiasm, and they also took time to observe and get curious about the small living creatures found in the mangrove areas ๐๐ฆ
The whole experience was powered by the people who showed up on the ground, especially the students and educators of Pola Central Elementary School together with our community, LGU, and DepEd partners who made the day possible ๐ค
More than a program, it felt like a shared day of learning, playing, helping, and appreciating how important mangroves are to our environment ๐๐ฑ
