The ABS-CBN Foundation Programa Genio has consistently prioritized skill-building through education initiatives for the most underprivileged over the past years. One of its recent efforts has brought hope and opportunity to the students ofπŸ“San Agustin National Trade School (SANTS) by providing essential resources for the technical-vocational-livelihood (TVL) track.

On January 8, 2025, Programa Genio successfully turned over TVL equipment to SANTS, marking a significant milestone for the community. Given the school’s location, where studentsπŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ“ from three barangays come to study, this change is especially meaningful. Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, the equipment will be utilized to enhance skills in Bread and Pastry Production and Food Processing, opening doors to new opportunities and empowering students to create and promote the products they will call their own.

The turnover ceremony brought together Honorable Congressman Budoy Madrona, Education Program Supervisor Dr. Apryl C. Bagnate, Public Schools District Supervisor Baltazar C. Mazo, barangay officials from Mahabangbaybay, Cawayan, and Sugod, and PTA President Stephen Mazo, to celebrate this significant milestone. During the event, Congressman Madrona committed to funding the addition of two classrooms in the upcoming school budget and emphasized his support for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to meet the educational needs of residents seeking to return to school.

The belief that a one-size-fits-all approach is ineffective resonates deeply with the students of SANTS, as we work together to meet their unique skill development needs. This initiative fosters hope for future generations to embrace their right to educationβ€”freely, fully, and without hesitation.πŸ’™
