ABS-CBN Foundation’s educational arm, Programa Genio (PG) successfully hosted seminars for Building Emotional Resilience in different schools and sites in Bukidnon and Davao Region.

The two-day seminar in Bukidnon held on January 27-28 gathered participants from Libona National High School, Sumilao National High School, Bocboc National High School, and Bugcaon National High School

Meanwhile, the same seminar extended its reach to eleven (11) divisions in the Davao Region from February 17-18, encompassing Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Panabo City, Tagum City, Mati, Davao City, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, Digos, and Igacos.

These seminars were attended by 469 Junior and Senior Teachers and Alternative Learning Education (ALE) teachers in the region. By purpose, these seminars were specifically designed to equip them with five core competencies of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.

These activities aim to equip teachers to be sociable and emotionally mature and stable. Through the dissemination of practical and calming techniques, teachers were empowered to effectively manage stress, both personally and within a classroom setting. These newfound skills may enable them to detect social and emotional disturbances among their learners and even themselves, helping them realize their potential and self-worth in society.
