The ABS-CBN Foundation Programa Genio has made significant strides in advancing STEM education, acting as a key partner in the recently concluded Robotics Training for Science Teachers in Romblon. Organized by the Schools Division Office of Romblon in collaboration with Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. and Erovoutika, this initiative highlights a shared vision of shaping future-ready educators and learners through technology and innovation.
Held at the Simple Living Hotel in Poctoy, Odiongan, Romblon, from December 10-13, 2024, the training equipped educators in 52 schools with vital knowledge and hands-on experience in robotics and automation. Erovoutika provided expert facilitation, while Programa Genio played a pivotal role in the coordination and implementation of this impactful program. The hand-over ceremony of robotics kits to participating schools underscored the event’s commitment to fostering STEM opportunities in the province.
This effort was made possible through the generous ₱2.6 million financial support from Congressman Budoy Madrona, whose contributions underscore the importance of community collaboration in improving educational access and resources. He has made possible empowering our teachers with the knowledge , skills ,and tools needed to effectively integrate robotics into their classroom . Over 5,000 Learners will now have access to quality education in STEM, preparing them for future technological advancement.
The second day of the training showcased dynamic and interactive sessions, allowing teachers to explore creative solutions and enhance their robotics expertise. These activities culminated in a Robotics and Automation Competition, where participants demonstrated their newfound skills, teamwork, and innovative thinking.
ABS-CBN Foundation Programa Genio is proud to have been the conduit for this transformative initiative, alongside the unwavering support of SDO Romblon led by SDS Roger Capa and Ma’am Apryl Cruz Bagnate, the education program specialist and focal person for the training.
