Nothing can stop a person with a genuine heart from sharing love and giving hope to other people. JinJiang Jiyan Philippine Alumni Association (JJPAA) proves that nationality, race, and age are not hindrances for them to lend their hands to those who are in need. The six-month old alumni association with 170 Chinese members chose to have their get together with the kids at the Bantay Bata 163- Children’s Village (CV).
“I am very grateful for such a valuable opportunity to visit Bantay Bata 163 Children’s Village [and] to extend our loving hands to embrace the children and to ignite the fire of hope for their future,” said Riva Sy, Vice President of JJPAA.
Members of the alumni association are all graduates of JinJiang Jiyan Middle School in China who are now residing in different parts of the Philippines. They believe in the importance of mutual respect, help, and unity. Conducting their “Love and Hope Mission” at the Children’s Village is their way of exercising their mission.
“I hope that in the days to come, we will continue to work hard to provide greater help and support for our children,” Sy added.
Aside from giving food, clothes, bags, and other necessities, JJPAA also prepared some activities that definitely uplifted the CV kids’ spirits.
One of JJPAA members showcased an energizing hip-hop performance. Knowing that dancing is one of the children’s hobbies, they conducted a mini dance tutorial that was clearly enjoyed by the kids and by their members as well.
In line with their mission to share love and hope, Riva Sy taught the kids on how to make paper hearts. Kids showed their enthusiasm as they made hearts in various sizes and colors. “Joy” (not her real name), one of the kids at the CV, made two extra paper hearts and when asked about the reason behind it, she shared that she will give the other cut-outs to her friends at the village. This simple act clearly shows that sharing love and giving hope knows no limits and boundaries, especially if it sincerely comes from your heart.
