The ABS-CBN Foundation (AFI) and Asian Transmission Corporation (ATC) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to support Bantay Kalikasan’s Bantay Langis initiative. The program advances environmental sustainability by ensuring proper disposal and recycling of used oil. This collaboration actively prevents hazardous waste from contaminating the environment.

Asian Transmission Corporation President and CEO Katsuhito Noda expressed his perspective on the alliance with AFI and highlighted ATC’s commitment to social responsibility.

“We are truly honored to work with ABS-CBN Foundation and GENETRON. This partnership demonstrates what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared purpose and vision. We firmly believe that every effort, no matter how small, can lead to meaningful change,” he further explains. “At Asian Transmission Corporation, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond delivering quality products and services. We are committed to creating lasting value not only for our customers and business partners, but also for the people and communities we serve.”

During the signing held on June 25, 2026, at the Asian Transmission Corporation (ATC) headquarters in Calamba, Laguna, both parties formalized a 5-year contract. Attendees from ABS-CBN Foundation included Roberta Lopez Feliciano, Managing Director; Marilyn Balais, Area Manager; and Sherwin Hinlo, Head of Operations, Resource Mobilization, and Donor Management. Asian Transmission Corporation was represented by Katsuhito Noda, President and CEO; Nobuhisa Yamanari, Executive Vice President, Engineering Division; Masayuki Matsuo, Executive Vice President, Treasurer; Ma. Beth Alejandro, Finance Division Manager, and Joseph Bandong, Manufacturing Division Manager. Jocelyn Panen of Genetron International Marketing, the partner transporter and recycler, was also present.

“We recognize that we work with materials often discarded as waste; in essence, we are recyclers, discovering value where others deem it unusable. With these resources, we support initiatives like Citizen Science, through which AFI educates and empowers coastal Filipinos to adopt responsible fishing practices while safeguarding their local environment,” shared Roberta Lopez Feliciano, explaining how the partnership helps fund Bantay Kalikasan’s projects in Batangas, Mindoro, and Romblon.

Through this expanded collaboration, ABS-CBN Foundation and Asian Transmission Corporation affirm their joint commitment to environmental protection by participating in initiatives that ensure safe disposal and recycling of hazardous materials.
