“Hindi naman masyadong mahirap iyong pagtatanim at iyong paglalagay ng mga lupa doon sa mismong pot, nakakaenjoy siya. Parang therapeutic na nagtatanim ka, something different from your usual na ginagawa,” (It’s easy to plant. It’s easy to put soil in the pot. I enjoyed it because it is therapeutic and is different from what I usually do), shared Joanna Casero, Marketing Officer of United Pulp and Paper Co. Inc. (UPPC)

In preparation for the tree planting season, United Pulp and Paper Co. Inc., employees recently planted 1,000 Malaruhat germinants at the La Mesa Watershed. Malaruhat is just one of the many endemic tree species in the Philippines.

We’re helping in this effort and doing our part to help save the planet,” Danaidej Ketsuwan added, President and CEO, United Pulp and Paper Co., Inc.

The germination activity was UPPC’s second engagement with Bantay Kalikasan at the La Mesa Watershed. The country’s largest industrial paper manufacturer vowed to continue this activity as part of their corporate social responsibility.

United Pulp and Paper Co. Inc. is a subsidiary of SCG, one of Thailand’s largest conglomerates under its packaging business.
