ABS-CBN Foundation- Bantay Kalikasan has found an ally in Marsh & McLennan Companies. 80 employees from their two sites planted 400 Malapapaya and another 400 Kalumpit seedlings at the La Mesa Watershed.

“It was a very good idea for us to be part of this initiative. I think as it turned out most of the employees who participated in the CSR activity really appreciate it, the fact that we really need to take care of the environment,” said Ramon Zandueta, Managing Director and CEO of Marsh and McLennan Companies.

The 800 trees planted by Marsh & McLennan will help improve the soil, air, and water quality at the watershed. Being the only remaining forest of its size in Metro Manila, La Mesa Watershed serves as the lungs and water reservoir that supplies thousands of households in the city.

This tree-planting activity is their second engagement with Bantay Kalikasan. Prior to this, they participated in the plant-wall construction at the La Mesa Watershed in the first quarter of 2019. “We are really looking forward on supporting more projects for ABS-CBN Foundation. Starting this year, we had several opportunities to be part of the program already,” Zandueta added.

Marsh & McLennan Companies concluded the tree-planting activity by pledging their full support on ABS-CBN Foundation’s future endeavors. May this be the start of a fruitful partnership between these two organizations.
