Denso Techno Philippines Inc. (DTPH) continues its advocacy in protecting the environment through renewing its partnership with the ABS-CBN Foundation to support Bantay Kalikasan – the Foundation environmental program.

DTPH, a company that creates programming embedded software for automotive components, has long supported Bantay Kaliksan in properly disposing of its wastes from electrical and electronic equipment. Denso’s used-lead acid batteries (ULABs) from their Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) are donated to Bantay Baterya and Bantay Langis projects of Bantay Kalikasan. These donations have corresponding monetary value which has supported the conservation and regeneration efforts of Bantay Kalikasan at the La Mesa Watershed throughout the years.

“Denso Techno Philippines, Inc. and ABS-CBN Foundation share a common goal towards the protection and enrichment of the environment as part of DENSO Group’s identified Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) for Climate Change and Partnership for Growth,” said President Mr. Akihiro “Jim” Yoshikawa.

Under the renewed partnership, DTPH will donate 1,700 units of UPS batteries. These will be handed over to Bantay Kalikasan partner-treater Oriental and Marketing Motolite Corporation to recycle, treat, and properly dispose of their hazardous wastes. The equivalent monetary value of this donation will continue to support the Bantay Kalikasan environmental initiatives nationwide.

Aside from UPS batteries, DTPH has also committed to further support the ABS-CBN Foundation through donating calculators to its high school and college scholars.

“For us to be part of nation-building, renewing our partnership allows us to be part of a worldwide effort to properly dispose and treat hazardous waste and simultaneously allows us to support key environmental projects such as the La Mesa watershed that provides water for 12 million people in Metro Manila,” said ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Roberta Lopez Feliciano. “In the spirit of gratitude, I would like to thank our donor Denso Techno Philippines, Oriental and Motolite Marketing Corporation, and Genetron International Marketing. I look forward to our continued collaboration and hope there will be more points of intersection wherein we can continue together and be a positive force for this country.”

In addition to Bantay Kalikasan, DPTH also supports the Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya disaster relief campaigns.
