In an inspiring move towards environmental sustainability, the ABS-CBN Foundation has joined forces with the hospitality arm of Robinsons Land Corporation, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, for a significant step forward in shared commitment to a more sustainable future.
This collaboration aims to bolster the ABS-CBN Foundation Bantay Langis, Bantay Baterya, and the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (BB, BL, WEEE) initiatives, highlighting the importance of responsible waste management for environmental conservation.
Robinsons Hotels and Resorts is the largest publicly listed hotel developer and operator in the country in terms of the number of hotel properties and has been a reliable partner of the ABS-CBN Foundation, particularly in supporting Bantay Bata 163, another program of the Foundation dedicated to championing the rights and development of Filipino children. This continued partnership through BB, BL, and WEEE, puts into focus Robinsons’ commitment to care for its community through social and environmental sustainability initiatives.
The memorandum of agreement was signed at the Holiday Inn Manila Galleria last April 1. The event was attended by Barun Jolly, Senior Vice President & Business Unit General Manager, Robinsons Hotels & Resorts; Annalyn D. Yap, Vice President, Robinsons Hotels & Resorts; Cheryl F. Mina, Treasury Manager, Robinsons Hotels & Resorts; and Roberta Lopez-Feliciano, Managing Director, ABS-CBN Foundation.
Also present at the event were Jocelyn T. Panen, Technical Sales Director of Genetron International Marketing, and Reno M. Entico, Corporate Chief Business Strategist of Envirocare Management Precision, Inc., who are instrumental in properly transporting and treating the waste materials.
ABS-CBN Foundation has been championing environmental stewardship for 25 years now, and partnerships like these equip us with enough resources to contribute to sustainable shifts from reef to ridge. Lopez-Feliciano expressed the same during the signing: “It might not be front-page news, but activities like waste collection and segregation are crucial. People engaged in these efforts are the unsung heroes, as these small actions collectively contribute significantly towards climate mitigation.”
Yap, in her address, emphasized the potential of this partnership to create a lasting impact. “Together, we can do more and achieve more as we commit to making more efforts and ensuring that we leave a better planet for our children. We look forward to a long collaborative partnership and joint initiatives with ABS-CBN Foundation as we take the small steps towards the biggest journey of all, and that is saving our only home,” she shared.
This partnership between ABS-CBN Foundation and Robinsons Hotels & Resorts represents their commitment to environmental stewardship. It symbolizes a united front in the fight against climate change and the degradation of natural resources. These two organizations set a powerful example for others to follow by joining hands, demonstrating that collaboration can lead to meaningful change.
