READY TO LAUNCH! 📑🚀

All 23 of our barangay partners have successfully completed Phase 3 (Guided Writeshop) and Phase 4 (Final Revisions) of our Child Safe Communities project in Pola, Oriental Mindoro!

The goal of the project is to help barangays develop localized child protection protocols and programs that will be launched and implemented at the barangay level.

📌 This will help clarify the roles of barangays in the prevention and handling of child protection cases, especially for cases that should be referred to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office or other agencies.

📌 ABS-CBN Foundation Bantay Bata 163 Program Head Levi Ambon-Rota also shared the Revised Protocol for the Case Management of Child Victims of Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, and Discrimination (CANE+D), launched this year by the Department of Justice – Committee for the Special Protection of Children. This serves as a guide for duty-bearers in barangays and schools who are responsible for safeguarding children’s welfare.

🎉 Congratulations as well to Barangay Calubasanhon, the top barangay with the best output in their Together for Child Protection project! They were awarded IEC posters and a Smart TV.

📌 We also turned over IEC posters on safe and unsafe touch to all barangay partners, which include contact information of local child protection stakeholders.

We look forward to the launching of your projects! 🤝

Poleño learners and parents for hashtagChildSafePhilippines! ❤️

As the culminating activity of each Child Safe Philippines project, we conduct child protection talks and parenting sessions that also serve as our direct engagement with children and their parents or caregivers.

👉 This was held on World Children’s Day in Pola, Oriental Mindoro, with 100 learners and 72 parents from 23 barangays, where we discussed children’s rights, help-seeking, and positive discipline. We were also joined by our volunteer, Marvs Isaac, who helped with the preparation and facilitation.

👉 At the end of the sessions, the children received snacks, clothing items from UNIQLO Philippines, and educational kits from JPMorganChase. Meanwhile, the parents also received snacks and hygiene kits from JPMorganChase 🎁✨

👉 On the same day, we, together with the Municipal LGU of Pola, also held the Children’s Congress. The event let the learners elect a child representative who will sit in the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children and become their voice. Andrea Panganiban of Domingo Yu Chu National High School was elected as the child representative!

Thank you very much, Kapamilya!
